1. So my toddler isn't too keen with mommy since baby was born. My question is this, how do I help him to not use his pants as a personal toilet when I nurse the baby? I have tried taking him to the toilet before nursing, but he can hold it like the best of them and always has more to go if he actually does go on the toilet. He has been out of diapers for many months and this is stereotypical regression due to new baby.
Is it something to ignore and it will go away? Address it or just change him and say nothing? What are suggestions people have?
2. Toddler has also taken to pulling his ears and biting his lip/tongue to stay awake at all times. He refuses to sleep for me, but is so tired it's ridiculous. I have been enforcing 'quiet time' where he needs to rest, if it's in his room he will scream, throw things, tear the room apart. I really don't like this approach, btw!
Or we watch a 'mommy show' which is just a show or movie that is extremely boring to a two year old! I am fine if he doesn't sleep, but as long as he rests I am thrilled! Yesterday he actually did fall asleep during the mommy show and slept for 45 minutes.
With the ear/mouth issue, he is causing himself pain to stay awake, very strange, but not really, he has been OBSESSED with ears for his entire life, but it's so frustrating to not know how to help him stop doing that. He doesn't have a 'lovey' I tried to get him to take one for a very long time and he just was never into it. We are trying to get him to take a comfort object now, as that would hopefully eliminate the ear/mouth aggression, but I don't think it's working
Does anyone have suggestions for the sleep issues?
If anyone made it to the end, thank you, it actually feels better to have it out of my brain!
