Since we're getting closer and probably all have at least one full name choice possibility, I thought we should have a thread where we can tell everyone our name choice and ask what everyone thinks about it, if it reminds them of anything, ect.... That way we can all get a little feedback before having to decide on a name.

We are thinking of nameing our little boy..
Henry Oliver Brown
... What do you all think??

I like it. I think of Pooh Corner, like Christopher Robin. Sweet little boy with hair across his eyes and an imaginary friend

I totally thought of a little english boy, too. I love the name Oliver, and Brown and Henry. They go together so well. It just reminds me of cute, sweet, smart, clever, quiet. Love it!

I'm a little partial to the name Henry, so it has my vote. I love Oliver, too, and have tried to convince dh that it would be a good name for ds#2, but he's not buying.

Very cute...also brings up literary references for me. I picture a softspoken boy who likes to read and is a bit shy.
My girl's name for the moment is Aria Genevieve.

I love it! My first choice for a girl would be Ariane Emmeline (Ari for short), but my husband doesn't care for it, and besides he gets to choose the name for our first girl anyhow since I chose the first name for the first boy.

I think we've solidified the middle name for the boy, so here's our name choices:
- Nathan Michael Dougherty (Nate)
- Maia Anne Dougherty

Krista

Rebecca:
Dillon used to make me think of 90210, but when paired with Riley I think it gives it a nice unique touch. I like the way you spelled it too.
Katherine Patricia is cute, especially if you call her Kattie or Kat Pat for a silly nickname. It has a nice family-name ring to it.

Vegan:
Nathan Michael reminds me of an active little boy in a peewee soccer or peewee football uniform. I love "Nate" for short.
Maia Ann is just magical! It's different and free-spirited, but the Ann also makes it sophisticated and slightly more traditional.

Summer:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aria!!! It reminds me of a little girl in a pink tutu. The Genevieve gives it this cute french overtone too!

I adore it. And, we'd considered naming this little boy "Oliver" too, but didn't want an O theme going on.

vegan - I love your name too. Of course, I'm partial, my brother's name is Nathan. Though it's funny, because only dh, ds, and I call him "Nate". Maia is beautiful too.

rebeccalizzie - I really like both of your names. We also use a family trend for middle names, so I your choice!

summer - Aria is such a beautiful name, I think of a free-spirit, out-of-the-box thinker

Our name is

Elliott Lee

I really like it, but am pushing slightly for Ellis in place of Elliott. Our last name is 3 syllables and I prefer to keep the first name to 2 syllables.

I like the traditional quality and the gentle, reliable sense I get from it. Yes, I agree that it is a sweet little-boy name nice and innocent AND that it will mature well with him. Trustworthy. Old-fashioned. Rural or small-town. Unpretentious. Pure at heart. I can imagine this as the name of an honest lawyer. Maybe a teacher--some sort of fixture of a community. Oh, and the "Henry and Mudge" books by Cynthia Rylant are some of my all-time favorite early chapter books for kids--Henry is a great character. They are so humorous and down-to-earth. My son's Waldorf doll was named Henry, so I have soft spot for the name also.

These are some of the things I think of.

So many great names! I have a friend whose daughter is named Luna.
Lisaloulou, I can't believe you are maybe using Aria too...I don't even know anyone who has heard of this name! Small world!
Lissa: I LOVE Scotia. SO original!
Karma: That is why I love it too! Italian for a song and also Arabic for the world and I am both Italian and Arabic and French- which is where the middle name comes in. :-) Plus I needed something short to go with my insanely long last name. :-)
Peilover, I love Ellis!

The names everyone has chosen are awesome!! WE DON'T HAVE ONE SINGLE NAME PICKED OUT FOR A BOY OR A GIRL!!! Man are we in trouble. I think I haven't been motivated because for my first I spent months picking names and making lists and when DD was born, not one name on the list suited her and it took another couple weeks to come up with a name that suited her! All the time I'd spent on the lists was wasted time really, so that must be why I'm avoiding it now, in case the same things happens when this babe is born.

I love everyone's names! You all are so creative and have found wonderful names for your babies. We are still trying to decide. So far dh, dd and I all think we like:

Aaron, Alexander, or Ian for first names (Dd also likes Tamuel, yep Samuel with a T. She made it up just for him, but I just can't do that. Everybody says, "His nickname could be Tammy" Yeah, sure.)

Middle names could be Joseph (dh and fil's middle name), Thomas (mil's maiden name), I think we could maybe use Samuel here for dd but dh says that we aren't using it just because a 4yo wants it

At least we have a few more weeks to think about it. Chances are we'll have 2-3 name possibilities and wait until after he is born to make a final choice. That's what we did with dd and I liked waiting to meet her first.

We let our 4 yo pick out the baby's middle name : but I was desperate -- she started bawling when I told her i was pg and it was a consolation prize

I know - that's what I thought when I saw you were using it too! My DH came up with it years ago and we've loved it ever since! We love the musical meaning behind it as well - he sings and plays guitar (really well, I might add...lol). I'm also into not so common names so it fit us perfectly!
