I'm not a surrogate, but I am placing this baby up for adoption. Not exactly the same thing. I hope you find other moms to chat with, though I don't think there are any other surrogates in this ddc. Maybe check out the general pregnancy board or the finding your tribe area?

Not that this is really relevant, BUT I just want to say I appreciate you two and any other women out there willing to carry a child for someone who isn't able to themselves. May God Bless you especially! I had offered to carry a child for a co-worker of mine, but her husband got killed in a motorcycle accident before any arrangements were made. They were 2 of the most deserving people I ever knew and I wish I could have participated in there miracle! You 2 are definitely angels!

I have a question, hope you don't mind, but how did you become paired up with this surrogate? Just curious. I had a friend offer to carry one for me but at the same time she has expressed several times how she wishes her and her DH would have more children and he is opposed. She also has made comments on how no matter what she would still feel responsible for the child. I personally do not think she would be a good match for us so I was wondering if this was someone you knew or someone you were paired with. If we were to get a surrogate I think it would be better for us to be matched with someone rather than have someone we know carry.

I think there is a website called surromoms.com or similar that has more information about surrogates and even classifieds.

Steph, wife to C, mama to O :, E , and I :.

Yes, try www.surromomsonline.com they have a weatlth of information!

Definitely everyone needs to be on board!!!

Now, in our case, I do probably want more children of my own, but then again I could be happy if I didn't. My husband is more on the fence. So, surrogacy works for us right now. Some clinics do not want to work with a surrogate who says she might want more children. They feel it is too big a risk, because there is always the chance you could lose reproductive function after any pregnancy and they feel a surro who wants more children should not take that risk. In the case of traditional surrogates, you should NOT work with someone who says they want more children! That's just a recipe for disaster!
