Wooohoo! The only time I'll celebrate something gross looking like that coming out of my body is the end of pg. Bring it on baby!

I was wondering if the clear stringy stuff that I've seen the past 2 days has been a precursor and it must have been b/c this morning there was some yellow and then red-tinged mucus that showed up - and I was so excited! I've never seen any mucus with my other kids so this is a cool new sign for me.

Of course that doesn't mean anything other than one more bit closer to the end. I have been having ctx. at night that are feeling more and more like the real thing so I guess they *are* doing something in there. Yay!

Just a late-pg celebration for me.

Ha,ha! I called my DH this morning to celebrate too! He thought it was the most disgusting thing ever, and did not share in my enthusiasm! Now,if we could just get things started and this baby would quit taunting me like something's actually gonna happen....

I've only had mucous once (out of three), and I was holding my son less than 24 hours later! Good luck. I keep checking every time I have to pee - and - nothing! Oh well. Like I said, I've only had it once.

Well... and it wasn't a HUGE glob or anything, but it was a really obvious small glob on the tp when I wiped. Is it weird that we talk about these things with each other??

I can't tell you how overjoyed I was to see some of that myself a few days ago. I'm just telling myself that it's totally normal to be excited about something like mucous.

Let'g give a big cheer for mucous! YAY!!! I've had some clearish stuff for days, so far nothing pink to red. Hoping it means something though!

Ok--so, what consistency of mucus are we talking about here?!? I had a pretty big glob of slightly yellow mucus this morning (even felt it come out), but it was not all that thick . I always assumed the plug would be thick...But since I've never done this before, I don't know! I've definitely been feeling some crampiness/braxton hicks lately for the first time this pg.

Sounds like part of your mucus plug to me. Mucus plugs can either come out in parts... or a big glob. Either way, it is the consistency of... well, kind of thick snot. Sorry... that is so gross.

Encouraging eh?

Hey--I'm all for it!
Yeah, I guess it was part of the plug, because it was not a tiny amount!
I actually like talking about this stuff...

Well, the way I see it - we talk so openly about fellatio as a way to jump start labor - mucous is no big deal!

I started seeing mucuous yesterday afternoon, and thought it was from my exam earlier that morning (tried to get membranes stripped though my cervix was posterior and so my OB couldn't reach it) but around 11pm I noticed a lot more browny snot (eventually gobs more, some blood streaked and clear).

At around 11:30, my DH and I decide to try nipple stimulation (2 minutes on, 3 rest) and about 20 minutes into it I started having contractions! They've been going on now since then though not in a regular pattern, but this is definitely a great sign since on yesteday morning I was about 80% effaced and no measurable dilation (which wasn't a change from Tuesday). I've eaten twice, taken a shower, slept off and on and since they're still here we know that this is it!

BTW - today is 42.0. Does God know what He's doing or what? Sounds kind of crazy but each contraction is a blessing since we were seriously considered and (of course) were being pressured to induce. I was so upset about this since I don't think my body is defective and so it can't do it on it's own. Granted in the last few days we've tried lots of 'natural' things I never thought I would try, but I hated each and every one of them (except maybe the sex though - TMI WARNING - one time my fabulous DH gave me a donation through a medicine dropper so I could have semen AND an orgasm).
