Just interested to hear from the mammas who have already given birth or who have given birth before - any little signs they had that the birth was only days away, any changes in their body or personality that maybe they didn't even realise was a sign until after the event!

Here here!

For me - #1 was kind of not a real deal b/c I was naturally induced (I had pre-eclampsia and it was my last shot before having to go to the hospital instead of homebirth).

#2 - the night just before (I went into labor with him at like 2:30 in the morning... or at least ctx finally woke me up enough to have to labor awake) I was at this class with my Mom and I was SO uncomfortable - I could *not* find a comfortable position to sit in and I was SO annoyed with everyone and everything... it was all I could do to be polite even to my Mom and go home and go to sleep.

No other signs... it was a shock (he was 38w0d).

Mama to 4 amazing little people, another little expected 3/6/12!

Great question!!!
I'm 38 weeks as well.
I do have to add that I've been irritated and just plain grumpy for about a week now.
I feel like I'm heading our marraige into divorce court
I just can't control it. It's not like me to be like this either.
So, that sign isn't working for me.

I've also done the "cleaning like a madwoman" 3 times and that wasn't it either. Thought for sure that would be a sign. Nope

Can't wait to see the responses on this!!!

#1 - nesting, cleaning. No other signs.
#2 - emergency cleaning of the bathroom. Some clear/white thick mucus. Some crampiness.
#3 - emergency cleaning of the bathroom. Some clear/white mucus, followed by snot colored mucus. Some crampiness. The evening before, when asked how much longer until my due date, I started telling people "20 minutes".

#1 - red, blood tinged mucus - went into labor 5 days later (well, my water broke, ctx never did pick up)

#2 - prodromal labor for a few days, then red, blood tinged mucus that increased throughout the day, labor started that afternoon. Also, about 2 weeks before, I started getting really irritated with everyone. I couldn't even handle talking to my mom. Then, just a few days before labor, started getting irritated with 3yo ds (this is totally unlike me) and at that point, dh said that it must be soon because I just don't loose my cool around ds.

I really didn't have any signs before labour with either birth.

Jam 7, Peanut Butter 5, and Bread 2.

I had a "stomach bug" (nauseous and achy, but nobody I knew had it and nobody ever got it) 9 days before this labor

Fri night a friend called (I hadn't answered the phone in at least a week) and I cried, very uncharacteristic, and said I could do 3 more days but not another week...she was born two days later.

The morning of my labor, I just HAD to get rid of my kids. I sent them to my mom's for a sleepover...all I wanted to do was lie on the couch and watch movies and have no responsibility.

What, are you kidding? I probably could have babies without even being pregnant first!
