I wasn't going to tell anyone since I'm pretty embarrassed about it. I don't even have really great reasons for doing it (according to mdc standards anyway). Right now it's just the best thing for my mental/emotional/physical health. My last baby was three weeks late, so it's not that I'm just an impatient person. I just don't have it in me anymore to do this. Nobody is pushing it either, this is totally my decision. My last birth was pretty medically managed (pitocin, not allowed to walk around, etc.) and I did it with no pain relief of any kind. I was also super sensitive to pitocin, I only needed to go to 2 and I was ready to push. So I'm hopeing that it won't take much to get me going, and I can do it pain med free again.

I'm really upset that it's come to this. I was so looking forward to my homebirth this time. But losing my midwives at 38 weeks kind of threw everything off track. Now I know better...next time have a back up plan (or midwife). It's just kind of funny since this is what happened during my last pregnancy. We moved at 39 weeks pregnant, so I was stuck using a hospital/doctor I had never seen before.

Now that I've confessed everything, I need to go pack. Wish me luck. I already feel kind of icky about going to a hospital (those places are not the greatest places to have babies at). But I'm going to stay positive and hope that everything works out well. I really hope that I'm not making a terrible decision with this induction. I'll post an update when I have one.

Melaya, you shouldn't be embarrassed. Everyone's birth is different, and we all have to do what we think is right for us.

Good luck today and I will be thinking of you!

PLease don't feel like you need to explain yourself or be apologetic about your decisions - I hate that about these boards. Good luck and let us know how things go!!!

I have had the worst luck this pregnancy. They screwed up my appointment (more like forgot to put it down on the schedule). They were also pretty busy so they rescheduled me for Thursday morning. Part of me is really bummed. But another part of me is happy that she gets more time to come out on her own. Thanks for all the kind words.
