I was just lurking on the Aug DDC & seeing all the mama's posting about going into labor got me all excited

So I was thinking since we are next, has everyone decided on names yet? I'm name obsessed & would love to see what everyone has chosen for their little ones. So let's share...

We have a list & will decide when he shows up & I can look at him 1st

On our list is:
Rhys Mateo
Dillon Carlos
Owen Emilio or Owen Mateo
Ian Carlos
Nolan Emilio
Liam Carlos

I think it really will be either Rhys or Dillion, but I won't eliminate any of the others just in case. Feel free to comment on my list & please share yours too.

ETA: If he should happen to really be a girl, very unlikely, but hey...our list is:
Meredith Sofia
Rhiannon Olivia
Norah Sofia

Cheryl, wife to an amazing man, homeschooling SAHM to Gavin 12/03, Rhys 09/06, and Ian Aug 11, 2010.

We know we are having a boy, and we have decided on the name Benjamin Ryan. If this had been a girl, she would have been Lucy Olivia.

We do have a girl's name, but it's a secret! I'm excited about it.

We have a couple of boy's names in mind, but DH says he doesn't like them anymore. I told him last night if he wants something different, we better come up with a new list soon, bc the clock is ticking!

I want to have the names ready by birth. Much respect to the mamas who want to wait to meet their babies before picking the name, but all babies look like messy, adorable, shriveled old men to me! I would end up with a little girl named Harold Elton or something

We need middle names and another girl name. We're so freaking picky! Nothing too weird, nothing too trendy (these are common names, but not trendy, ya know?), no family names, no names of friends (don't want to open up that can of worms), yada yada yada. Hubby's middle name is William, I'd LOVE to use that for our boy middle names, but he says no, specially because my dad's and brother's middle names are also William. Stinker. We like Audrey (or I did) for a while, but that's been nixed. Hannah it will be apparently if it's a girl.

We have:
Zachary
Samuel
Hannah

Mimi37: With DS we had his name picked out by 17 weeks. This time I think the wait to see him thing has just been because I can't decide so this way I can put it off longer

Ish: I love your list, if Dh wasn't such a stinker about names we'd have more names in common. I love Euan & Finegan. There is a new mom at my LLL group who's son is Finnley, I just love it.

I love "William" too -- that is my favorite first name for a boy. We would call him Will. DH hates it, says I just have a crush on British royalty... Stinker indeed!

We're still horribly undecided about names atm.
I think we have a for sure first name if it's a girl:
Arria, but we don't have a firm middle name, there are only two on the list, Giselle or Saffron. But I'm not totally sure what DH thinks of those, so it might be neither!

I sat down last week and made a decent sized boy's list though:
Alden
Balin
(Baelon/Baylin/Baelin, not sure on the spelling)*
Devin
Donovan
Duncan
Erik/Arik*
Tate/Tait/Taite
Tristan*
Zane

* DH's pics

If I was picking right now it'd be Alden Taite.

Sooo, yeah. I'm thinking this baby may not have a full name for a couple of days

If it's a girl (unlikely I think!), we still like the name we had picked out when DS was born,
Maya Evelyn

If it's a boy, well, we just can't decide!
our list is currently:

Oliver
Theo
Ezra
Elias
Lucas
Adrian

and I don't know what we'll do for a middle name. why are boys names so hard???

We are supposed to be having a boy, so his name is/will be Jace Steven. In the event that he is a she, her name will be Jayce Lynn. We had settled on this baby's first name when my DD was 5 weeks old. Kind of a long story. Maybe I'll tell it sometime.

Peace

DH and I can't agree on anything, so we'll wait for the baby to get here, just as we did with my dd. The only thing we're set on is "William" for a boy's middle name after my husband.

Girls names I like: Rebecca, Abby, Brooke
Boys names I like: Eivind, James, Zane

Who knows what it will be though. It took us 5 days to name our daughter and the name we chose was never on our list.

You know though, you won't think that about YOUR baby. I was so surprised that I thought my newborn was BEAUTIFUL and was also surprised by how much personality a newborn really does have! I completely believed that I had the only good-looking newborn in the world! I was looking at dd's newborn pics recently, however, and I was sad to see that she did look like a shriveled old man, too. New mama hormones are pretty incredible.

I think it's because so many boys names are turned into girls names. No offense to anyone who has done this, but it just makes me crazy to hear about little girls named Riley or Reagan etc... It's ok for some reason : to name a girl Dylan, but you can't really name a boy Jennifer.

I haven't used those names, but I do like Riley as a girls name : I totally get what you're saying though!

We have had our girl name picked out since before we got pregnant. If we have a girl her name she will be Elaina Marlee (we'll probably end up calling her Lainey). For a boy, he will either be Aiden Parker or Jackson Parker. We were all set to use Aiden, but it's just getting more and more popular and I'm not sure if I like it as much. I really like Jackson, but dh likes Aiden better. So, we've decided to wait until the baby is born and if he is a boy then we will decide what he looks like.

I really think we're having a girl and will be shocked if it's a boy. I also kind of hope it's a girl just because I love our girl name so much. I want to use it!!!

Our boy name is Leo, or Leonardo. Our girl name is Shayla.

No middle names - our last name is hyphenated and annoyingly long. We thought we'd let our kid pick their own middle name when they're older, like a rite of passage when they turn 13 or something.

well I know it's a girl, so her name will be Trinity Noelle.

Had she been a boy, she would have been named Solomon James after my father.

I'm finding names as a real problem.... I thought it'd be so much easier when I found out if baby was a boy or a girl - secretly I thought it would be way way easier if baby was a girl, as I had some girls names I thought were nice, and I had no clues on boys names... Since I found out babys definatly going to be a girl I have (To my annoyance) decided that I have boys names I really like, and I have NO idea on girls names... I want it to be something meaningful, something that symbolises maybe strength, or something that means something loving (As cheezy as it sounds, just so she will always be reminded that no matter what she is loved) and I am one of those people who wants to meet her before I name her which gives me until sometime after she's born to pick a name which I thought would be long enough... But as the due date looms closer I'm running out of time!!

I am having *the hardest* time with names...Our first was so easy; we used two family names that we loved, but this one has given us lots of trouble. I think we have it narrowed down to the following. We're getting surprised with baby's gender and at this point I have no feeling either way re: boy or girl...

Boy:
Finlay (with Cavan, August, Charles or Maddox for the middle name)

Girl:
Arabella, Imogen, Kinsey (fam name) or Lila/Leala with Fleur as a middle name for all.

Would love thoughts if you'd like to share!

J - Birth doula and *very* grateful mama to bouncy Q, fancy F, and mighty F!

We decided on the first name right away, after a mentor. But the middle name was a little more difficult...

Isabel Aven

We are insistant that Isabel be pronounced as in Spanish (E-sabel) rather than the anglosized (Iz-a-bel). Although we live in the rural west so who knows how long our chosen pronunciation will last!
