is anyone still spotting? This is crazy! I had an ultrasound (yuck!) and my midwife did an internal (double yuck!) and they could not find anything wrong. It is terribly frustrating...just bleeding and bleeding (bright red, changing a pantyliner 6 times a day), worrying and worrying...:

The midwife said that I need to make it to 12 weeks and then I should be out of the woods. But I cannot imagine bleeding for another 4 weeks. I just really feel like I need to vent about this, but I hate to complain and it is getting old to dh. He is worried too.

Any words of wisdom for this mother of three who has never experienced anything like this?

My mother bled heavilyish with her 2nd pregnancy, not at all with her first though. She bled so much they said they thought it was over for her. I was born 9 months later I didn't bleed at all with my first pg but also did with my second, and all is well! I wish you luck it is so hard to relax!

Well, it is good to hear all these stories...it really is encouraging.

Chrissy - How long did you bleed? IOW, at what point did it stop?

I'm 7 weeks, and I spotted yesterday. It just happened once, and it was brown (not bright red). But I'm still feeling nauseated and pregnant, so I assume that the pregnancy is still viable.

I know that I'm not going through the same exact experience that you are, but I wanted to let you know that you're not the only one spotting.

Nicole, let's see. It's been about almost 5 years so I'll see what I can remember. I think the bleeding started at around 6 weeks. I'm not sure how long that lasted, maybe just a day or two. Right around 12 weeks I had an episode of bright red bleeding. Had an u/s and they found that I had a low-lying placenta and somehow that was the cause? Then I know I spotted off and on a few more times throughout the pregnancy. The placenta moved up in plenty of time for delivery though.

I'm sorry you're going through this.
