THANK YOU THREAD LOCATED HERE: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=472078
POST YOUR UPDATES CONCERNING YOUR PACKAGES ON THIS THREAD (not the Thank You thread!)

I’m kind of taking this from the August 2006 Due Date Club and a little from what I’ve seen in this club in terms of swapping. I’m thinking to give a few weeks for posting and ISO list, and then some ample time to prepare your package and a few weeks to stalk the mailman?

One thing Aug 2006 Group did that I thought was neat was to post some Things to Offer (optional). General information like: knit children’s clothes, soakers, toys. OR baby carriers IMO would be better than specific “Insert-name-brand-sling Sling” because I’d like this to be about surprises to each other and not people putting “Insert-name-brand-sling Sling” on their ISO just to try and get that persons stuff. That’s no fun… I think it’s all about the surprise of it all myself, and handmade can sometimes be better… -wink wink-

So onto the swap...

~ Anyone interested please post your ISO list by May 17th (and the optional list of Things to Offer if you want to make it known what you have. If you would rather keep it quiet because you would rather go and buy things [store, thrift shop, garage sales, etc], by all means do that.) Also note if you want Gender Specific or Gender Neutral items.
Participants:
Ambrose
Bertrandsgirl
Keren
Momof3girlz
Mamarainebeau
Loomweaver
Cam&Kat's_mom

~ Start PM-ing top 3 choices between May 18th and May 20th. (you do not have to send to all three!!!) Please read on... If you are daring enough to swap to two+ people, please let me know in the PM so you may receive the correct amount appropriately.
Recieved Swap Choices From:
Cam&Kat's_mom
MamaRainebeau
Loomweaver
Keren
Momof3girlz
Bertrandsgirl

~ I will spend May 21st matching and ought to have it up by May 22nd. This will not be a secret swap. You will know who is sending to you.

PLEASE double check to make sure it all works out. I went over this 3 times and with my husband an additional 4th time so it SHOULD work.

I tried to match everyone with who they wanted as best i could. I hope no one gets too disappointed. Also, if you could please email me your Mailing Address to ambrose_mdc AT yahoo DOT com It would be helpful (as the organizer) to have in case someone were to fall through with their package (I hope not, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared!) So I can ensure that everyone gets a package!! Thank you!!
Recieved Addy's From:
Cam&kat's_mom
Loomweaver

Packages I think can be any amount you want but some are asking for a $ amount so I'll set it at about $25 give or take $5. As long as the stuff is quality I'm personally not concerned with how much it would add up to dollar wise (I always have problems trying to estimate how much a thrift store item should be priced in referance to a swap, same thing for homemade knit/sewn items KWIM?) Added June 6th: Please add EITHER Delivery Confirmation OR Insurance to the package you are sending

~ You will have until JUNE 12th to mail out your packages. If you need an extention for whatever reason please PM both ME and the person you are swapping with to make sure they are ok with that and so I know as the organizer.

As of June 9th at 5:30PM CST I have heard back from all but one swapper who have said that extending to June 16th for sending the packages is ok with them. SO... EXTENDED TO JUNE 16TH for mailing packages!

*~ I do ask that some people volunteer privately to me to be back up swappers just in case something falls through. I really hate seeing people get left out. These back up swappers names will be kept private and will only be revealed if they want to be.~*

ISO:

New Related
~ watersling
~ cloth baby toys (100% cotton preferred)
~ Cloth Diapers – All-In-Ones preferred, fitteds/pockets are acceptable, any size (NB, S, M, L) acceptable, Most of our diapers are well over 3 years old as they have all been hand me downs. They are getting REALLY ragged [particularily DD’s SOS which looks like a rag, quite literally and I’m surprised it absorbs as much as it does] **would like designs in all sizes that are not very baby-ish or gender specific or religious… but it really isn’t a requirement. Just a wish. **DH just wanted me to edit to add he really likes Kooshies/Kushies so if you have any you don't want if they are in GC he'd be thrilled**
~ Advocacy Items (cloth diaper/breastfed/homebirth/waterbirth/no vaxx)
~ hand knit anything: clothes, wool pants, shirts, etc
~ wetbag (large enough to maybe hold 2 diapers at a time)

Breastfeeding Related
~ Nursing Necklace
~ Nursing Shirts Size M
~ Milk storage bottles that can fit on a Medela Pump in Style (I have found that older style gerber bottles work really well)

Soon-to-be older sibling Related
~ videos or DVD’s (copies ok) of births for DD to watch before our baby gets here
~ summer clothes size 2T/24mo in more stylish prints *please avoid massive pink* (all of her clothes are *mostly* hand me down clothes from literally the 80’s and early 90’s I feel kinda bad….)
~ wet bag, we never had one with her and DH has gotten tired of carrying plastic bags. He now uses sposies on her for outtings, much to my chagrin
~ Any sibling books
~ Crayola Color Wonder books and Markers
~ Aquadoodle

Daddy Related
~ wool socks (wears size 11 mens shoe)
~ World of Warcraft 60 day Game Card
~ Size 44 mens Birkenstock sandals? (used is totally fine!! He's never had any)

Mommy Related
~ Maternity Clothes size M/L shirts and size M pants/dresses
~ Weight Watchers cookbook (it’s the only way I even eat remotely healthy otherwise it’s cheetos and soda for me)
~ Birth Beads
~ Home Birth Items (chux pads, queen bed plastic matress pad, etc)
~ *flaxseed oil capsules for my bipolar disorder or Rescue Remedy

Crafty-ness Related
~ scrap booking TOOLS (pen sets, cutting system sets)
~ pre-made scrapbook pages?
~ Disposable Cameras (or a Digital? Haha!)

Gift Cards
Borders Bookstore
Barnes and Noble Bookstore
Great Clips (we really need haircuts LOL)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I May have this to offer:
~ Mixed Artist's Music CD’s
~ baby carriers
~ toddler toys
~ handmade greeting cards
~ $20 worth of items purchased at a thrift shop
~ mama cloth
~ organic chocolate
~ variety of sizes of women's clothes (for after pregnancy) ranging from 0-11 in pants (couldn't afford much maternity with DD#1 so thrift shop jeans in larger sizes worked), M/L in tops
~ recipies for after baby (freezable, easy cook dinners)
Okay - I'll join in Here's my ISO:
knit clothes
birthing beads
nursing necklace
nursing tops (size M)
cool baby/toddler music
I guess I would have the same type of things to offer. I don't knit or anything, but I know where to find these.
Yes, I think it was puppyfluffer that mentioned you had one going but it had been filled. She told me to feel free to start another one for others who didn't get in or for those who want in again.
I hope I'm not stepping on your toes...
Laralou, I have PMed you about this but I thought I would post it here as well
I am under the understanding that the CoOp/Swap Forum (as it is one forum) is closed to new threads as the CoOps have had very had incedents lately. There is a sticky from CynthiaMosher stating any new threads to be posted will be automatically deleted.
I also was under the impression that since there is currently a swap going on in this forum right now it was okay to do another one for those that missed out on the other one. August 2006 also has a swap underway with one already completed. From these two forums and 3 swaps came my idea for this swap. And since the Swap/CoOp boards are closed I thought that might have been a reason why others started Due Date Club Swaps within their Due Date Month sections.
Can you please explain to me either here or in PM why I cannot have this swap take place in this forum? And can you confirm that I would be able to post to the Swap/CoOp board without it being deleted due to the forum being closed to new postings until the current CoOps (from about 2 months back) are resolved?
Thank you for looking into this and taking the time to respond
Gotcha!
Still waiting on Bertrandsgirl and waiting on a reply from Momof3girlz (I needed to ask a question about her choices and she had just logged!)
If I do not get a PM from Bertrandsgirl by May 21st (tonight) @ midnight, I need an opinion ladies... do I drop her and continue matches or wait longer? I don't want to cut into our shopping/creating/crafting time too much.
I can do that. I'll just extend the shiiping day so us crafters can still have the same amount of craft time.
PLEASE double check to make sure it all works out. I went over this 3 times and with my husband an additional 4th time so it SHOULD work.
I tried to match everyone with who they wanted as best i could I hope no one gets too disappointed.
Packages I think can be any amount you want but some are asking for a $ amount so I'll set it at about $25 give or take $5. As long as the stuff is quality I'm personally not concerned with how much it would add up to dollar wise (I always have problems trying to estimate how much a thrift store item should be priced in referance to a swap, same thing for homemade knit/sewn items KWIM?)
I've posted all this on the first post as well.
-looks at husbands summary of what I wanted him to post-
You can all PM eachother your own mailing address' if you feel comfortable doing that, I was just trying to get DH to write that in the event that one of us were to fall through I would already have the addresses so I could make sure the person got a package asap. Make sense?
Also, I have recieved an address from Carrie... you didn't include your user name... so I don't know who you are! And loomweaver I just got your off MDC email addy, did you want to send me your mailing addy or no? My PM box is getting kinda full, I'll make attempts to pare it down right now....
