I know this may seem a little early, but with everything being so busy lately, I was wondering what everyone is (if they are) dressing their new babies as for Halloween?
I was going to put Keagan in a sheer(ish) sort of belly sling and go as a pregnant woman (after all, it's what I'm used to), but I also put together an adequate Super Mario costume (somplete with red hat).
We were going to dress the boys as a pirate and a ninja because we were given little onsies that say that, but then we were given a carrot bunting bag and a green bean bunting bag. I just need to find the matching hats and we are all set. Now the 3 year old is going to be more of a challenge. She can never make up her mind
I have been really thinking about this and getting soooo excited (of course I might not have this baby by Halloween but my gut tells me I will). The carrot and green bean sound so cute, do you know where they came from?
I bought London a fleece Jalapeno for Halloween last year that he wore in a sling and happily slept the entire time.
Boston will get the same treatment, I hope it isn't a freakishly hot Halloween in Boston this year.
(Greater) Boston = the city where we live
Boston = my new baby's name
(I had to edit the post because even I was confused).
We have an elephant costume and a lion costume for the girls (6 and 2) but I really hate how the "heads" come off easily, falling to their back's. I think we might do the same thing as we do every year and they can go as princesses or fairies.
I figure this baby is going to live in the sling so no one will see it anyway. No costumes for new baby this year. Maybe next year
DS (almost 3) will probably be a pumpkin. That's what he was last year and he loved it so much (wanted to wear it every day afterwards) that we had to hide the pumpkin costume in December so I didn't have to keep looking at it every day
Oh I doubt I will feel like going anywhere this year
DP will have to take 5 yo dd out and she wants to be a dog
Baby and me can hand out candy to the two kids that come by our street
:::sigh::: I sooo love Halloween, too!! I will just have to have lots of people over to keep me company and celebrate with some spiked pumpkin juice. OMG-- I will be able to drink again!!
It depends on when the babies are born for me. If they're born around 36-37 weeks, that would make them a month old at Halloween and we'd be ok with taking them outside and walking around. If they're born 39-40 weeks, they'll only be a week or two old and we don't want to be walking around outside with us all trying to recoup, kwim?
Anyway, IF we do go, my 2 year old dd is going to be Little Bo Peep and we're going to dress the triplets in white sleepers with cotton balls glued to them and they'll be her three sheep.
If our baby is born before Halloween he will most likely be a Pumpkin, we nicknamed him Pumpkin before we knew what we were having so we had a name to refer to the baby by instead of just 'the baby' or 'it'.
We were going to get my DS (2) a Buzz Lightyear costume since it is his absolute favoite thing right now-- he even wants to take his Buzz toy to bed with him. I have a little pumpkin sleeper/romper/thing for the baby. It's very simple, just an orange cotton one-piece with a green "leafy" collar and green feet. It's cute. I doubt I will take the baby out trick-or-treating, but we'll see. I love Halloween too,
A monkey. Something about the baby being dressed like a monkey makes me very happy. His sister is dressing as a dead princess......... that's my girl.
I've been thinking about this a lot as our babies will likely come a few weeks before Halloween, so if I want to make them costumes I need to do it soon. Tonight we came up with a fun idea...have 5 year old dd be cat in the hat and get these little red onesies I saw online for the babies as Thing 1 & Thing 2. Of course I would have to put pants/shirt under the onesies. Mainly it will just be for pictures, I can't really imagine us taking the babies out when dd trick-or-treats. So fun!!

The Thing 1 and Thing 2 onesies were a must have for DH! He loves them! we just got them off of twinstuff.com for cheap.

that's a very cute idea.....
as for my babe....i think we'll not be doing the whole costume thing this year....our baby is due on october 20th, so i think trick or treating will be out this year.....
i love, love, love halloween! but, since the baby will be so new at halloween, we've opted not to do a costume this year. my mom bought me an orange onsie with candy corn that says "got candy?"; so, we're going to stick with that.
Silas was an October baby, so I am going to use the halloween onesie, black leggings, and pumpkin hat we used for him. Baby will be in a sling most of the time, so that should suffice for this year.
I haven't a clue what Silas will be -- maybe a pirate.
