My midwife told me the other day that the colustrum before your milk comes in has been made for a while before baby comes so that is the time to enjoy that cocktail I have been craving!!! Yahoo! So I think I will make margarita's!! I have been having a 1/2 glass of wine here and there, but it never quite did it for me. Margs here I come!

What will you be toasting with???

Gosh I hadn't even thought about it but man that sounds good!!!! I have been craving a beer since I was 11wks AND had to endure our anniversary in NYC... kid free... on St Pattys Day!!! Without even being able to have one drink. Sigh. lol. Somehow a beer doesn't sound like an ideal after birth toast though. Maybe some Arbor Mist. Hmm.

lol

DH already has a list of things for after-delivery, and the number one is some sashimi and a Sapporo.

I don't come here anymore. MDC has become overgrown with ads & useless extra forums.

We'll crack open a bottle of locally made wine. And I've got a Sam Adams, a Blue Moon, and a Sierra Nevada in the frig so I can decide what sounds most tasty. I can't wait!!

DH makes homebrew beer and is making a pumpkin beer to celebrate this baby's birth. We made a lavender beer when DD was born in May. I thought last time that I'd want to have a drink of beer or champagne or wine or something but I was totally not into it. All I wanted was water -- lots of it! -- chocolate milk and the tuna (I know, not the best thing) sandwiches they had at the hospital. Alcohol didn't sound appealing at all. Maybe this time though I'll have some of the pumpkin beer. We'll bottle it too and pass it out to our friends, kind of like chocolate or cigars. Right now the margarita sounds appealing, mainly for the sweetness of it, but I'm not sure about how that would taste after giving birth. You'll have to let us know how it goes, coloradokat! Salud!

I'm a Lindeman's Belgian Lambic fiend! Just love the cherry one. It's so darn expensive but I may have one in the fridge in case I want it. (We're not big drinkers around here)

How cool! I didn't know that - and I'm afraid to drink too often or much while BFing (I swear I watched DS act "drunk" after I had a glass of wine when he went to sleep and he woke up to nurse 30 minutes later instead of 2 hours later). I think a margarita sounds excellent

I have a bottle of champange to share with my attendants...I'm also hoping to have the crock pot going with a roast, and baked bread going in the oven...well--the attendants get to do all of that stuff..so who knows !
I'm sure I'll only take 2 sips of the champange...usually too bubbly for me
