I really want to do my best to "forget" my due date. I think the only person who actually knows it is my husband. But my family keeps asking me when is it? When is it? When is it? Are you in labor yet? Are you in labor yet? Huh? Huh? Huh????? I keep saying "anytime in October is perfect". But people seem to not be ok with that answer. It is driving me crazy. The words "EARLY" and "LATE" make me cringe. Why are we as a society so hung up on this? Can you tell I am little amped up about this? :
Just playing devil's advocate here...but society, and namely family, get all hung up on it because everyone is so excited to meet the new baby! Don't be upset about a normal and natural love of a precious new life...kwim.
If the focus bothers you, don't pick up the phone and try not to let it get it to you...relax and go on with your day!
In love with Dh since 1998. We created Ds (7.1.03), Dd (10.16.06) and Dd (3.16.09).
I also tell everyone anytime this month. My "date" is at the end of the month, but I go earlier so anytime this month is right. My mom doesn't get that either, she keeps asking when the MW thinks this baby will come, I didn't bother to tell her that my MW asks me when I think baby is coming.
There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
In my email signature, I purposely left out the edd, just writing "late October" and have avoided the due date question all throughout this pregnancy... until the calendar turned to October. Now, everyone is asking me! I keep prefacing my answer with, "Well, if you go by LMP, which is even less accurate for me because I was breastfeeding and had only just had the return of my cycles..."
I don't even remember exactly what the date is... 21st or 22nd or around there. I'm just hoping he's here by Halloween. I already have a November baby.
