Well, after a few days of going back and forth, asking a hundred questions, we have decided to be induced tomorrow via breaking my water. I am 38 weeks. It looks like my body is on its way to pre-eclampsia and we (midwife, OB, dh, and I) want to avoid going down that road as it can cause a more difficult labor. I want to be free of machines as much as possible and be able to move around.

My midwife will be at the birth as our doula and advocate. I will still be able to be mobile and get in the birth tub. I am already dialated to a 4 (w/o contractions) so we think once the water is broken my body will go into labor. I have been losing my mucus plug for the last few days and my cervix is really soft and stretchy. So, everything is pointing in the right direction.

Our car is packed and I am on my way to bed for (hopefully) a good night of sleep! We have to call the hospital at 6am to find out what time we can come in. I am so excited to meet our babies tomorrow! Best wishes to all of the other weekend birthing mamas!

Mama to Ainsley (7/01) , Finley (10/06) and Jade (10/06)

Sending you beautiful birthing vibes! I've BTDT with preeclampsia and I don't blame you for wanting to address the issue before it potentialy becomes serious. I can't wait to hear about the arrival of your little ones!

If breaking your water doesn't work, you could try pumping your breasts, it has worked successfully for some mamas here.
