Okay - that scares the hell out of me! I feel "kicks" in places that doesn't seem like one child could kick, but I figured that with twins I would measure much further ahead (I don't do u/s unless there seems to be a reason - and the doctor doesn't seem concerned though she has delivered surprise twins before...).

I'm 29 weeks and measuring 30. I've been 1 cm "ahead" each week since 17 weeks.

I don't know! lol I see my OB tomorrow and I am almost 28 weeks now. He hasn't measured me yet. He has done several super-quick u/s and done a size/date estimate based on those. (I was surprised by how often he has wanted to do an u/s, but he had a mom several years ago refuse any u/s at all. Then this woman delivered a baby with multiple horrendous problems. This woman and her dh had the gall to sue him for "wrongful life" when they said that they did not want an u/s for any reason period! : So now he tends to do more u/s to cover his a**.)

Fundal height... I was measuring 26cm at 25 weeks. I have 28 week OB appt Thursday and 29 week midwife appt. next Thursday, so we'll find out at those appts if I'm still 1cm ahead.

By u/s, I was measuring 2 weeks ahead at 20 weeks, but that's normal for me. DS #1 measured 2 weeks ahead at 29 weeks when he was born. My fundal height was always right on with him (at 28 weeks it was 28cm). So this baby is actually measuring a bit bigger than DS #1, I think. Yipee! Big is good.

I have no idea. My last visit was at about 27 weeks and I have yet to be measured. I have another one at about 30 weeks but I don't know if I'll be measured then or not. Everything did measure fine at my u/s in the middle of July so I assume I am right about "on schedule".

I recently changed my username, but I still say "Hello" to all those who know me in real life! Hi P, S, T and K!

I am measuring pretty much right on, I was measuring arouind 2 1/2 cm ahead but I guess I've evened out.

I also thought that you'd for sure measure ahead if you are carrying twins, add another mama to the list that you have scared.

At my last appt (two weeks ago almost) I was measuring one week ahead. Its funny b/c I see lots of us do! My midwife made mention of something - she said if I consistently measure one week ahead she will test me for GD. I had passed on the test before...so hoping not to do it...but we'll see I guess.

Caroline, I don't see why your midwife would test for GD because of measuring 1 week ahead. I mean, fundal height in general is not an exact measurement - it's considered "normal" to be within +/- 2cm, I think. So even measuring 1cm higher than your week is still completely normal.

And I've been testing my glucose levels at home (not taking the GTT), and I've been completely normal, despite measuring 1cm ahead last prenatal. But I know I grow bigger-than-average babies (not really "big" babies). So I'm not at all surprised to measure 1 week ahead by fundal height. I mean, if you look at the father of these babies, you can see why these babies might be big.

at my last appointment (27 weeks 2 days) i was measuring not quite 30 weeks, which is strange for me. my other pregnancies i measured right on target the whole time, and had 7 lb 8 oz and 8 lb 10 ounce babies at 37 weeks.

I thought it was odd too that i am not measuring a huge difference... other twin pregnancy moms i know are measuring over 40 weeks now... but i will count myself lucky... since they seem to be growing just fine

I'm 29 weeks and 5 days. Today at my appointment I measured 29 cm, so right on target I guess. I think plus or minus a few centimeters is all considered normal though. I am starting to feel really wide though, like I need to spread the ribs somehow

I know! Its a mystery to me too. I've been thinking a lot about that. I will ask her if she brings it up again. I never did the GTT at all so maybe she is worried? But truly I don't see why. Babies come in all sizes anyway!

I was measuring 26 cm at my 29 week appointment last week. I am a small person, but my midwife still seemed a tad worried. This baby is so active, though, I feel like I have no reason to worry... any one else measuring 3 or more cm small?

Ok, had 28 week appt today, and I'm measuring 30cm. Woohoo! I want a big baby.

Btw, my doctor doesn't do the measurements... the nurse does. The doctor comes in and talks and that's it. He sits across the room and never touches me!

I go to the midwife next week. I knew I'd grown this week... I just FELT bigger! Like I looked down while sitting and was like "I have a belly!!!" We'll see if I stay 2cm ahead next week. I'm also excited because my midwife will probably palpate me and figure out what position baby is in. She did it at 28 weeks last pregnancy. I have tried to tell recently, but just can't figure it out. I'm 99% sure he's still head down, but I can't tell anything beyond that. I know he's changed positions because I actually feel kicks now instead of just bumps - he was facing straight back before.
