I'm one day overdue. I guess I shouldn't be so alarmed as it's normal but DS came on his due date and I'm ready now. Everyone is harping on me - I guess I'm screwing up their schedules. Now they want me to do weekly ultrasounds and midwives will want to induce at 42 weeks.
My due date(for what that's worth) was Saturday. At my appointment on Monday the midwife and I talked about if I were to go to 42 weeks. If I got to 42 weeks, she said we'd do a biophysical profile(I think that's the correct term), to see how baby is fairing. If everything was fine with that we'd keep an eye on things but she wasn't rushing to induce.
Here's to hoping we have our babies safe and sound in our arms very soon. Sara
Tomorrow i have an appointment with the midwife and i'm going to talk about alternatives to induction...i really really really don't want to go down that route.
I had a small little show yesterday...non bloody though, and a bit of an erm....loose bowel movement this morning....so i'm hoping things will start to kick off here soon.
Almost 42 weeks according to someone with a regular 27 day cycle. I have 35 day cycles, so I think my official due date is like Dec. 5th (give or take). Midwife says I have to go for the "stress test" this coming Monday if I haven't had this baby. She hates the thought of any kind of induction, but is recommending accupuncture since it's about a 90% success rate in getting labor started for overdue mamas. She doesn't want me to have to go to the hospital on Monday for "the test", but in order to keep her professional licensing, she had to "go by the rules" and that is the reason why all of us overdue mamas have to be subjected to this at 42 weeks. UGH!
you are not overdue until 42 wks. i know it gets frustrating. w/ ds1 i went 41wk6days. we did a biophysical at 41.4 and everything was good. hang in there. i know it is hard.
I was due Dec. 5th...since dd was a week early, I feel that this baby is late (though, technically, she's not!).
So...wait, wait, wait. I haven't made any plans, have problems planning meals (I mean, I have all this food in the freezer just waiting for the baby to be born, right???), and our homeschooling is on an extended "Holiday Break" right now. (Which is fine, because we do year-round anyway!)
So what is everyone else DOING while they wait? Besides trying out all the things that bring about labor!
: Spicy foods and whatnot (lots o' whatnot!).
Any minute now,
-Heidi
