The simple acting of taking one meal together as a family is much harder than I imagined. My children are all young enough to be accounted for at the table, it's my husband's seat that is often empty. eat.gif

How about you guys?

My husband often is gone 18, 19 hours a day, so generally it's just me and the kids who eat together.

We are a family of two so we eat breakfast and dinner together during the week and all meals together on the weekend.

Rarely. We tend to eat in shifts. DD1 is very active in some competitive sports teams, often one parent is off picking her up. Or DH is working late.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

Not often. Either our LO is already in bed or DH is working a late shift. We hope to make it more of a priority as the children get older but, for now, sleep is more important :-)

We do almost all the time. It works because my husband has a pretty consistent work schedule and is usually home by 5:30

We do for almost every meal. I actually can't remember the last time we weren't all together. We are lucky to be able to arrange our work schedules to allow this to happen. My parents put a huge value on eating together as a family when I was growing up and, although I hated it as a teenager, I totally see the value in it now and I LOVE it. It really allows us to connect together as a family at the end of the day. It is so so important to me.
