In the situation you described I don't really see why you hesitate to call it natural? A natural consequence IMO would be anything that falls natural to whoever is involved in the situation. If you're natural reaction to your child's playing with your knitting is to put it out of reach, then it'd be a natural consequence. Is it not a natural consequence because you had to think before you acted?
