As many of you have said I truly believe that consistency IS the key. I am trying so hard to use GD with my 2yo. His brother was not quite as determined to "buck the system" at this age!!! Reading the posts helps to keep it in perspective. "This too shall pass" is hard to remember when you are in the 32nd power struggle of the day and it is only 9:00am!!
I have committed to myself to use the one warning and then act system. If that is done consistently, I have seen him not try me as much on other issues. Even if it is only taking the spoon away for banging on the table.
My biggest feeling is that I am playing policeman all day. I hope that by using the GD he will one day develop the inner discipline we all long for!
Let's try and hang in there mamas, we're all they have!!!!
Thank you all for your remarkable words...my heart doesn't feel as heavy having traveled this path with you all this morning!
Today will be a better day!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there!!!

Have you read Positive Discipline? I can't remember the author, but I read it recently and really liked it.
