My friend has 3 children, she is a wonderful mama. Her DH tries very hard...but he leans toward physical punishments and the like.
He is also Mexican, born and raised...only been in the US a limited amount of time so his understanding of the English language is pretty limited. We are in a VERY rural VERY predominately white area (south central Iowa) so access to any parenting classes/books in Spanish are VERY limited...if it exists at all...which from what I've seen it doesn't.
She got him How to Talk So your Kids will listen and AFAIK
he didn't really 'like' it.
So...I need some tips on books that aren't radically GD but are anti-spanking anti-physical punishment, preferably from a Hispanic viewpoint understanding that he feels spanking is OK and might not take well to his upbringing or the way he WANTS to parent is wrong, kwim?
Just books to introduce him to a better way...kwim?
Anything, books, websites, etc...but they HAVE to be in Spanish. He *can* read English but he has a hard time comprehending it since his first language is Spanish.
