OK, this was just posted to another group I belong to and the results were pretty interesting! So, you've probably heard that more women go into labor around the full moon. Well, apparently, there is also an old wives tale that women are more likely to go into labor under the phase of moon that THEY were born under. Here is a link to a site that lets you check the phase of the moon on dates both past and future Moon Phases

So, how does this hold true for your past births, EDD, etc.?

For me, although neither my DD's birth nor my miscarriage occured under the full moon OR the phase I was born under (new moon), BOTH events occured under the same phase of the moon, what this site labels "2.X days before the last quarter." That phase occurs on Jan. 8th, about a week before my due date. At my last u/s baby was measuring on for Jan. 9th! Weird... We'll have to see how true this holds out to be!

I was born at 2.6 days after the last quarter.

My water broke with DS at 0.2 days before the full moon (which is interesting, I did not realize that he was born at the full moon!).

My EDD with this one is 3.1 days after the new moon.

So I'm all over the place. If this one were to be born under the full moon, s/he would be born just a couple days after I turned 37 weeks. I highly doubt that will happen, but you never know right? Holy crap, that's in just three weeks!!!

I was born 1.1 days after the full moon, and went into labor with dd#1 2.4 days after the full moon (about one day after the phase of the moon in which I was born). She was born three days after her official due date.

To go into labor with dd#2 at roughly the same moon phase, she would have to come ten days before her due date. It could happen, right? Very interesting!

My second was born on the full moon, my first was born on a half moon.

There were also 7 other woman in labor at the same time as me with my second. The nurses kept talking about the full moon.

I was born at the half moon, but my first was born at the full moon - I remember laboring with her out at night moon gazing, lol. This on is due at the full moon, so I guess we'll see )

I was born 2.4 days after the full moon.
My due date is 1.2 days before the last quarter, so they don't line up.
If this theory holds true, I'll be giving birth around Jan 5-6, so a few days early!

Happily parenting our snuggly wild child since 2007 and her little brother since 2011!

I didn't worry about any fractions away from the actual times of full moons, etc...

I was born at a new moon. Here is how my kids have done:
1: 1st quarter
2: new moon
3: full moon
4: full moon
5: last quarter
6: full moon
7: new moon

We're pretty much all over the place. LOL

I was a full moon, ds was 2.4 days after full, and full moon for this babe would be 5 days before my due date. I would take it.
I would also take 37 weeks, as my mantra keeps reiterating, but at least earlier than due date would be much better than later.

Both my son and I were born within one day before last quarter moon. The interesting part is TODAY is just before the last quarter moon...wouldn't that spice up the day! I didn't figure out when the next one lands, but probably something that puts me "overdue", so I don't want to think about it!

I wonder if the moon your dh was born under has any effect?

I checked this because I was curious. For me, I was born 2.8 days after the full moon, but DD was born 1.1 days before the new moon. Well, DH was born 1.2 days before the new moon. DD keeps insisting this baby will be born on her birthday which this year falls 1.7 days after the new moon, so she may be close!

I was born on an illuminated fraction .577 - .9 days before the last quarter. The closest thing to that in the near future is the day after my EDD(1/9)....hrm - so much for going early!

Mama to Amelia - age 6

I was born under a full moon, and my DS was born at a new moon. My period always comes with the new moon, so I fully expect this baby to come with the new moon, as well. That would put me nearly a week early, but I really am affected strongly by the moon.

I love reading these posts. It is very "illuminating"!
