I just thought I'd get some "natural" mama's input. I have stitches from a perenial tear and my MW asked me to stay down as long as possible to let them heal. We have stairs and she said it would aggrivate the stitches to be up and down the stairs.
We have family and friends who are acting as if I'm a slacker for staying in bed. : The baby has been here six days. I feel like I'm taking good care of myself, bonding with baby, enjoying my babymoon. I miss my kids and am going stir crazy but want to do what's good for my body.

How long are you other new Mommys staying down?

I spent a day and a half in the hospital and then came home and did way too much way too soon. If I had it all to do over again I would have stayed in bed with baby for at least a week after we got home and made everyone wait on me hand and foot! You will never get these precious few days back, enjoy them while you can and take as much time as you feel you need, regardless of what anyone else says!!!

2 weeks. I just started getting up and around and I feel great. My bleeding has nearly stopped, too.

Happily parenting our snuggly wild child since 2007 and her little brother since 2011!
