A friend sent me this link for washing cloth diapers & what products are rated good, average & avoid. It is very interesting to see all the different detergents/soaps out there.

I'm going to have to do some more research. I had been told that the Melaleuca Mela Power detergent was ok for cloth and if used at 1/2 the recommended amounts also ok for my front loading HE washer. I'm gonna be really bummed if I can't use this b/c I really love this detergent!

Thanks for posting the link

What a timely post! A great resource to really figure out what to use. I actually had been sold on Charlie's. What a drag if I would have spent all that money and had allergic reactions.
Thanks!

We had been using charlies soap for a month or so when dd got a blistering rash we could not clear up!! Went to the doc and everything. He even tested for herpes!! I switched back to our normal det we had been using for years and used the creams he suggested and I now know my gut was right it was something to do with the dipes.I just thought after a month and a half of use why would she suddenly have a reaction?? I went through foods she had eaten and everything.I hope they figure it out because the detergent worked great otherwise!!

Thanks for posting this! We used to use Purex F & C, but switched to regular awhile back. We'll be switching back next time we buy detergent.

The current brand we use is an avoid for diapers ...I am going to see if I can find some of the other brands at the supermarket. I am actually interested to see if I can find the Sun Free since it is non-petro!

I've shopped at drugstore.com for cheap vitamins and saw Planet detergent was there. They have free shipping so it's a piece of cake to get. Too cool.
