Walking in the mall today I got three or four flashes of pain/semi-having to pee?/maybe tightening, they were very short, and about 30 seconds apart. They didn't feel like when Bun moves and bumps my bladder, but sort of. They sort of seemed to start on the right side and spread to the left.

Any insight for a first-timer?

I would call them "very strong BH" or "pre-labor pains" ....!! Or a toning contraction.

But yes, what you describe does sound like an early contraction! Squee!

Congrats. You have awhile till that baby is safe to be out and with you though! With dd I was for sure she would be here on Halloween= she showed up on November 28th. Getting excited and ready too early makes for ALOT of waiting.

Sorry to burst your bubble! I am thrilled for you!!!! It will be SOOo soon and your life with be so much more! Congrats and enjoy these last few weeks!

It's so hard the first time, I think because it really does seem like your baby is never going to come out! This time, I know it will happen sooner or later, and I know how far over I'll be able to go, so even though it's tough, I think it's easier this time. There are so many weird pains at the end, pressure on your cervix and all the bones in your pelvis shifting... throw in a few ctx here and there... I get some zinging pains in my cervix now and then I think when the baby is shifting. Her head is up pretty high right now though so I'm sure I'll just be getting more as time goes on. But remember that even the BH ctx and prelabor is all helping... every one of them helps your body get ready and helps the baby get ready too! It really won't be that much longer for any of us!

I don't want to have him early, I'm just excited that SOMETHING is happening.

I hear ya, mama!

I've been having more BH ctxns lately, but only on the top of my uterus. I'm not having any cramping or spotting/bloody show, so I'm not worried about PTL.

These BH ctxns are obnoxious! All they do is make DS angry.
