Seems the last few weeks, I can't stand some smells. I had the normal stuff at the beginning of preg but now? Some of my co-workers lunches have almost made me sick. And the smell of fries.....

Is it just me?

i know how you feel. for some reason i can't stand the smell of meat. makes me sick just thinking of it. cigarette smoke makes me sick when i'm not prego but for some reason when i'm prego the site of a cigarette even makes me gag. today i had to go sit in my car with my head between my legs. i was walking out of the bank and seen two women each smoking a cigarette in the same car with all the windows up. *puke* i can't wait to be back to my normal self again. hehe

I've been noticing the same thing. I had this bad at the beginning of the pregnancy, but it had kind of gone away till recently. The other day I had washed our extra set of sheets for our bed to have ready for after the birth, and I had washed them with perfumey fabric softener. MISTAKE! The smell was horrendous to me. I had to rewash them. Eww the smell made me feel so pukey.

Happily married, busy mom to a houseful :-)

Expecting again early Oct 2014!

I can't go into public bathrooms anymore (which is a HUGE problem!) because the stench, no matter how recently cleaned, makes me vomit. It's like I can smell every drop of everything that ever landed in there. Oh god, I'm getting ill just thinking about it. Sorry.

There is a great book called "The Mommy Brain" that describes the changes our brains go through with pregnancy and motherhood. Despite our feelings about "pregnancy brain" it actually makes us smarter! One thing that happens during pregnancy is the othalamus (smell center of the brain) increases greatly in size. Check out the book, it's great!
