I'm going to rent a hospital grade pump and start on a mother milk supplement but is their anything else i can do? twins are 11 weeks do i still have a shot?
How long has it been since you were nursing or pumping? Do the twins still latch on? It might help to know what barriers there were to breastfeeding as well.
Domperidone often works well to increase supply.
it just seemed like my milk never really came in full force like with my other sons i dont know if that had something to do with having one of them by section and my emotional state because of that since i have heard stress causes issues.
For relactation this is good news, first that you have breastfed before and second that there was no physical issue (like breast reduction, or nipple trauma, for example) that you need to deal with.
I'm so sorry that you went through the trauma of having a section after the first was born - I can imagine how hard that would be as all I wanted to do after I had my singleton was to cuddle him!
11 weeks is late to get things going with milk production, but not too late! If you are able, I would suggest getting the babies to the breast as often as possible. I have no experience with feeding twins, but perhaps there is a MDC mama who has experience with a lact-aid supplementation device who'd be able to talk about her experiences supplementing at the breast?
