I recently started Dom and noticed that my 6 week LO's toots have become stinky and also he seems gassier. We are battling many gas problems already and this is NOT the side effect I wished for... although I didn't know about it.
Since noticing it.. I have read a few posts where some other moms have noticed it.
If his toots are getting stinky does it automatically indicate something undesirable is going on in his digestive system? Or are these just harmless stinky toots?
What can I eat (Dill seeds?) or give him fennel tea to make it easier on his little tummy?
With baby's wind, it may not even be related to the Dom. My DD for the longest time had gas that smelled a LOT worse than her poop. I actually remember telling extended family that there is no way she had a poopy diaper because she smelled too stinky - it HAD to be gas lol. We said "her bark is worse than her bite" ;-)
Anyways usually it was something I ate - cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, beef, etc that had phased through the milk. Usually DD had more trouble if she COULDN'T toot. This may be TMI but sometimes I have stinky toots without digestive problems or other issues. I wouldn't worry if baby isn't bothered by it.
