Hello all,

My twins are almost 7 weeks old and we have a good nursing relationship.  This past week I came down with a horrible virus so naturally I didn't want to eat.  I haven't been sleeping much either, of course, which doesn't help.  Yesterday I noticed I could barely pump anything (normally I have tons of milk).  My daughter nursed all afternoon and really didn't want to be put down.  My son has been acting the same way today.  Miraculously they slept 6 hours last night, so I am finally feeling semi-normal again.  I tried pumping some again this morning so I could let our mother's helper take care of them while I slept but again I was pretty alarmed at the low volume.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Will my milk come back like it used to be?  Anything I can do to help it along?

I would rest and keep yourself fed & hydrated as much as you can and just keep on doing what you are doing. My pumping output would dip when I was sick, but recover when I got better, and I think that's probably fairly standard.

WOHM to a girl jog.gif (6-11) and a new baby boy stork-boy.gif (2-14) and adjusting to the full-time life and husband being a SAHD.
