My DS#2 is 5 weeks old. He had been nursing great and had been such a mellow, easy baby- no crying. He would just make these cute little noises when he was hungry or needed to be held. About a week ago he started getting super fussy, crying all the time. He has such bad gas and I know when he starts crying his tummy is hurting him (I know because if he passes gas or poops he's fine and calm again). Is it something I'm eating or drinking? My only new food lately that I can think of is organic granola...thoughts?

For my ds it was anything cruciferous (sp?) like brocoli, cauliflower, cabbage etc. Within an hour or so after me eating, then him nursing, he would have very painful gas. We did the bicycle legs alot until I finally figured it out to stop eating those things, and he didnt have a problem after that.

Some babies and adults are very sensitive to certain foods. Cut out whatever you think might be causing the gassiness, and see what happens.
