at appt. this week they located babies head - in my pelvis!
my midwife didn't seem ruffled by it - said her babies engaged early also but the assistants in the room seemed shocked.
anyone else "engage" early? what were your experiences?

not from your club but my babies both dropped at around 30 weeks. so it's completely normal. in my opinion anyways.

Just jumping in as I saw your post on new posts. One of my sons was at a +2 station (firmly engaged and very, very low) starting 24 weeks all the way past 37 when my boys were born. I think this is more common in first pregnancies than subsequent ones when babies tend to engage during labor or just prior. (that is my understanding anyway). My point is don't worry or anything!

So can it cause PTL at all, since they have dropped?

thats my question also, is head engaged mean I have more of a chance of ptl? Normally in my family babies come real late - so as long as it is not worriesome I was kind of taking it as a good sign. but maybe that is wrong? could be engaged at 32 and still go 42+?

I'm at 32 weeks, and baby is engaged and ready to go. My midwife wasn't too concerned, although she did say to take it easy and try not to lift my 2 1/2 year old DS as much.

With my DS, I had preterm labor at 32 weeks, and he was born at 35 . . . but he wasn't engaged early, so I'm hoping each will just be different, and that this one will be born at term!!

Cynde,

I didn't see your post, either! How funny that we posted about our babies dropping at the same point in our pregnancies. It's good to hear from other women about their similar experiences. It sounds like most of them had babies who came before 40 weeks, but you never know.
