So for legal reasons she has to leave. Breaks her heart and all her ladies' hearts. But what can be done?

So I'm back to square one, but actually probably quite a bit more relaxed than I should be. Perhaps it's the fact that I've only gotten about 8 hours' sleep over the past 48 hours, I don't know. But I'm just laughing at the whole thing. Crying for her, laughing for me.

What's next? Hmmm?

Oh my. Well, did she have anyone who seh could reccomend to you? Or is there anyone else you know? I hopeyou can find someone. Just keep laughing, if not you may go insane and it is best to do that after the baby is born, not before.

WHAT???? OMG :

I'm with WildFlowers - did she have another midwife to recommend? I would hope the local midwifery community would step in and support her clients...

OK, searched the My Tribe area and found this thread:
Midwives--Charlotte, Fort Mill, Rock Hill areas?

hopefully you will find something there to help you!

Things are going alright so far... I have two friends who are helping me out, as well as SO SO SO many of you- thank you more than I can even think to thank you-...

And my mw has recommended another, they used to work together.

It just sucks going through this whole interview process all over again- really just drives me nuts. I'm still waiting for this woman to call me back, but I know she's got a lot on her hands right now. She was actually the first lady with whom I met, back in October or so, but dp wasn't entirely comfortable with her.

At that point I was trying to help him feel as involved and included as possible, but now it's to the point where I am making all the decisions on my own. I actually posted about this the other day.

So there are two in the running- A and L, and we'll see how money and things like that go.

I'm glad you ex-mw suggested someone, and that you still have time for choices. I can't imagine how frustrating it must all be for you.

MWs are illegal in my state, so basically ANYTHING can force them out of practice. They have to be very, VERY careful about who they take on as mamas, and about with whom they associate professionally.

GRRRR!!

"A" still hasn't called me back. Here's the deal with that...

R (my midwife who's leaving) and A used to work together... R is transferring a LOT of her ladies to A, and so I know they're both very busy right now, but I left a message for A on Thursday night and she hasn't called back yet.

She goes to church on Sundays, so I think I may TRY to call tomorrow afternoon, but I'm debating just waiting til Monday.

One other prospect, L, who a friend of mine used.

I was NOT happy with S. She's out. I just didn't feel comfortable with her at all. Too stringent on some things and extra money to boot. Which I do not have right now. I think it'd be an extra $200 over what I paid R... If I'm able to go with A, that transfers right over and I don't owe anything else.
