I kid you not. I drink G.T.'s kombucha (commercial brand), and whenever I drink it, even if it's a small amount, say a few tablespoons, my legs get heavy-feeling and a little achy. It's similar to the way my legs feel after I've had a glass of wine. But there's so little alcohol in kombucha, I can't believe it would be that. What the heck is going on here?

OMG! I thought *I* was crazy. Do you still drink it? Is it anything to worry about, do you think?

Do you not drink it often? It used to make my face feel numb (first sign of being tipsy for me) back when I craved it and wanted it everyday. Now that I got what I needed from it and I only drink it a couple of times a week I don't have that effect.

Isn't that interesting? My arms feel tingling and legs become hot when I drink apple cider vinegar, and sometimes water kefir too.

Wow! I started a thread a while back, about NT's Punch, here it is, about the same thing! I think the consensus there was that it was the probitics doing it's work with me. Sounds like a similar situation..

Another one with weak knees from kombucha! I always thought it was the alcohol in it. Might not be much but I drink a glass of kombucha much faster than I would a glass of wine or beer.

Well, I've decided to not drink it for a bit since I'm pregnant, just in case. I drank it with DS too and didn't have a problem, but I also don't remember having tingly legs. So weird...

Yeah, I'd say it's potent probiotics at work. I get that too, my chest and limbs feel tingly and i only drink about 2 oz at a time. When my intestinal yeast/parasitic infection was it's worst I felt like vomiting after more than a couple of sips as I'm guessing it was a powerful dose attacking pathogens. I now tolerate it fine, other than the tingly-ness.

Happily married to DH for 6 years, in process to foster-adopt 3 children DD4, DS3 and DS2. We may be bringing half brother age 9 one day as well! We are not infertile, we just have decided that since there are precious children who need homes there is no need for us to have biological children.

Wow! I thought I was crazy, too! This happens only when I drink the G.T.'s kombucha. A feel tingling in my knees & a little woozy. But not drunk or tipsy - it is definitely a different sensation from when I drink beer or wine. Plus I made my own kombucha for a while & never got that feeling (though I did sometimes feel a tiny bit tipsy if I drank a bunch). Crazy.

Mama to my little busy bee.

I'll join the rest of you and say - me too!! I always wondered why! I had never heard of anyone else having this reaction to it. I still drink it, and it's not every bottle that I've had (I usually drink GT's too), but sometimes it even hurts for a minute. Usually happens if I start off drinking it too fast. Weird.

I don't get it from store-bought, but homebrew gives me the very faintest tipsy feeling...kinda like when I was 17 and had half a wine cooler!  haha

IsaFrench, be careful your bottle doesn't burst in the pantry!  I had that happen to me once.
