Does anyone use one?  Is it worth the big price tag?  Any tips on where to get it cheap?

I haven't used one, but I think it's probably worth it.  I tried doing fermented pickles in a large, ceramic bowl, and it did not work (they molded :( )

I use an old (50+) ceramic crock and weigh down using a ceramic lid

mine is heavy - about 20lbs and holds over 5 gals

they can be found at yard sales and thrift stores for real cheap
