I have tried to make two different batches of kombucha and both times they have molded. It's definetly mold too and not just the scoby. Why does this keep happening??

Where did you SCOBY come from? Was it refrigerated? Is it very small? You definitely want to have a strong SCOBY and plenty of starter liquid to ensure success. Did you follow the recipe here? http://www.kombuchakamp.com/kombucha-recipe
There are also tips at that page that may help you figure out what's going wrong. It's probably a weak SCOBY. Start with a full sized one and I bet you'll find success. It's very easy. :)
