You might check out kefir. I made yogurt for years, and kefir is much easier, cheaper, and healtheir. Kefir is now practically my staple.
I would love to make kefir - just haven't been able to find grains. I'm not sure how the kefir could be cheaper than yogurt, though, when they use the same volume of raw milk?

pastormama, when I made yogurt, I would always buy a small container of plain yogurt as a starter. With kefir, you don't have to do that.
