The sponsor of the bill to ban raw milk sales is Daniel J Burke, his office number is (217) 782-1117 Call now and say or leave a message that says you are either a raw milk farmer or consumer and that you oppose HB4036 Amendment #1 which would take away your freedom to drink raw milk by totally banning the sales of raw milk in Illinois. After calling Rep Burke's office call your own State Representative (not federal) and ask that they not support this.
If you want to "slip" in opposition which basically means you officially register your opposition to this bill and amendment below you will find instructions on how to do that.
The first step is getting to the ILGA Dashboard by clicking http://my.ilga.gov/
Once there on the right side click on "House" and then "Committee Hearings;" a list of committee hearing will appear, at the top of the list there is a tab that says "week." Click on that tab and scroll down until you find the 3/26/14 Human Services Committee hearing listing (note there is a 3/25/14 date listed too, don't click that one). To the right will be an icon you can click title hearing details, click it.
Once you are there you will see a long list of bills assigned to the Human Services committee scroll down (not far) until you find HB4036 - HCA1 which is sponsored by Rep. Daniel Burke. To the far right of that you will see an icon that lets you create a "witness slip" click that.
Then you will be at a page that lets you fill out your contact information and officially register your opposition. The choice you will want to pick is opponent and record of appearance only.Please help spread the word now! This can't wait!
