With a young child who constantly distracts me, I want something that will beep when the milk reaches the right temperature. Heretofore I was using my finger (when I could stick it in the milk comfortably for 10 secs., it was ready. I have a meat thermometer and I tested it with water to see if it would beep at 100 degrees Celsius (i.e. when the water boiled) and it did. My guess is that it would also work for milk. What do you all think? TIA.

It certainly would. In fact from what I remember from Alton Brown's episode where he made yogurt that's exactly what he did!
