On dom's site, it has instructions for converting the opposite way (milk to water), but I have the water grains, and was wondering if I can convert some to make milk kefir ?

TIA !

Everything I've read implies that, no, you cannot go from water to milk, only the other way. I have milk grains, though. I just gave away some extra a few days ago but in a week or two I should have more. I've been wanting to make water kefir--do you want to swap?

I've never mailed grains before but I"m willng to try . . .

Thanks ! I'd be glad to swap some ... BUTTTTT first let me make sure they're still alive - b/c since I didn't use them for a while, I'm trying a batch right now which is either going very slowly/or not at all.... I think maybe they have just gone dormant, and need a few extra days to kick in.

I'll keep you updated...
