Why does my kefir suddenly smell like rotten Band-Aids? - Mothering Forums

That's honestly the best description I can come up with. It has that plastic/glue scent of Band-Aids, only much, much worse. The grains themselves smell like that. It's really not pleasant. Worse, it all tastes that way, too.

I'm wondering if the grains got contaminated with some (not so good) bacteria. I hope not. I was so happy to have grains again!

Any ideas? Any suggestions?

i've heard of something similar, i think...how big are your kefir grains? if they're large, tearing them into small pieces might help...
