I would like to hear from any mamas who have used azomite powder.
where do you get it from? when I googled it I mostly got azomite sold as fertilizer. I know it's good for the soil...but I just don't feel confortable buying something that says "fertilizer".
I was thinking of it to get some extra calcium/magnesium... something in line with tf/nt . could I give some to my kids?
since it is a mineral powder does it taste bad?
how much do you take?

lastly, any other tf ideas for calc/mag?

tia

Hi There...

I don't remember where we bought it (it was a few years back) but it was online. I put about a teaspoon in my egg drink per day. Here are my other supplements:

2 T. coconut oil
1 T. Molasses (iron, magnesium, potassium)
3 or more eggs per day
A few kelp drops (sluggish thyroid)
1 lemon squeezed into warm water w/added Celtic sea salt (minerals/electrolyes)
1.5 t Blue Ice CLO
.5t Butter Oil
Raw milk (at least 2 cups per day)
1 Cup homemade yogurt per day (probiotics)
I am about to start adding .5 t. bee pollen to my morning drink
I am about to start adding acerola powder (1 t. per day) for cold prevention
Bone Broths
.5 oz raw frozen pasture-fed liver per day (cut up and swallowed like pills).
About 1 t. azomite per day

I think that's about it. I figure I'm getting enough in the way of minerals with
this routine. I always like to hear ideas.

Blessings to you,
Holly

I knew I was missing something! I also drink
about a quart of nettle or red raspberry leaf
infusion per day. Love nettles!

My WAPF chapter leader takes it and I tried to for awhile. I forget where she gets it, but if you have a Wise Traditions journal, I believe someone might sell it in there. Anyway, it's really like eating dirt. Clean dirt, but it's not something you can hide in something else. I can take CLO oil straight, no problem. But this stuff I haven't added!

I've been trying to find out about this too, and found this thread in the process, so I thought I'd post what I've found:

http://www.wheatgrasskits.com is listed as a new Azomite source on the updated NT "Sources" page
(linked here: http://www.newtrendspublishing.com/PDFS/Sources2007.pdf)
They have two pound bags instead of the 44 pounds available most other places.

Haven't ordered yet. Anyone else have any other sources?

Clay also has detoxifying effects as the negatively charged clay particles attract positively charged pathogens and take them out of the body. Technically sold as an anticaking compound and available only in 40-pound bags, Azomite is incredibly cheap when used as a mineral supplement, costing less than one dollar per pound delivered. Take a heaping teaspoon mixed with water daily as an insurance of adequate macro- and trace mineral ingestion in these days of soil depletion through intensive farming."

I just was reading on clays on natural news (.com). He has many articles on it and has some good companies that sell top quality clay. I'm not sure if its azomite, but the ones he talks about has all the minerals and stuff like azomite.

Here is one article on healing clay for the body.

If you look at the bottom there are other articles on the clays.

I haven't tried it yet and am using Concentrace now. It seems much more user friendly than Azomite powder. Anyone know if Azomite is superior in any way and why?

Happily married to DH for 6 years, in process to foster-adopt 3 children DD4, DS3 and DS2. We may be bringing half brother age 9 one day as well! We are not infertile, we just have decided that since there are precious children who need homes there is no need for us to have biological children.

Cheaper, probably.

I was talking to my DH about this and he was just cracking up. "Did you have your dirt smoothie this morning honey?"

Talked to my WAPF leader and she wants to get some with me. So, sometime this week, I'll be calling my local distributor, asking for it for.. 'my garden'.

So now, am I correct in thinking that certain clays (like bentonite?) tend to bond with minerals in your food and prevent you from absorbing them? I think that's why the bottle of bentonite says to take on an empty stomach. Does azomite have this property?

This is second hand, but apparently somewhere in NT it says when you put azomite in water, the trace minerals stay suspended and benefit you. That is all I know.

Only other thing that comes to mind is that there's so much silica in it that if you've got extra aluminum that it'll help pull it out of your body. Also, hearsay since I don't have a firm source on that. Might be NT.

I just ordered a 2 pound bag of powdered azomite from wheatgrasskits.com. The stuff was only 5.95, but the shipping was 8.00 (I'm on the East Coast). So it ended up costing some money, but I think it will last a while.

I got some tooth soap, too, and my plan is to heal my husband's teeth with CLO, BO, toothsoap, and azomite. I'll let everyone know how it goes...

Curious about what BO is as well. ?

Also, I need some direction about taking this stuff. Mine came this week. Am I supposed to let it sit and settle and drink the water suspension, or do I take it whole hog? If it's the later it's a pretty tough one to take. The grit in my teeth is hard to put up with.

Anyone?

Holly, are you doing Bee's Egg Drink? Your list looks familiar.

BO = butter oil

And from what I know, second hand from NT, is that you're supposed to let it settle and then drink.

OK, We got ours a few days ago and have been stirring and drinking. My four year old calls it "dirt water", and the name has stuck. It's not hard to drink. It tastes just like water, even to my four year old. The only difference is that it's gritty. So we just keep a regular glass of water on hand to swish with afterwards.

We haven't been letting it settle -- we just stir and drink immediately. I figured if people used to dip their bread in clay, then I can swallow the stuff.

Got the tooth soap, too. I'm going to photograph dh's cavities and see if I can document any changes that occur with the tooth soap and mineral supplementation.

Now, if I had told dh years ago that one day I'd have him swallowing raw liver, brushing his teeth with soap, and drinking dirt water, I don't know what he would have said. For a Jersey boy, he's come far!
