I have started eating the frozen "pills" of raw liver. Today is my third day. I am trying to eat an ounce, but I don't really know how much that looks like. 4 ounces is supposed to look the size of a deck of cards right? so I am aiming for 1/4 of a deck.
How do you eyeball the amount you eat?
How long before you noticed a difference from taking the liver?
What differences did you notice?
How do you minimize the belly full of ice cubes feeling?

4oz?? I thought we were supposed to take like a teaspoon or tablespoons worth. Hmm! I like my way better. I dont think I could choke down that much.

Mrshawwk, I am trying to eat one ounce, I was just using the 4 ounces to try to understand how much 1 ounce should look like.

I just take what looks like a tsp or two (depends how much I want to struggle with cutting it up). I just eyeball it.

I noticed a difference on the second day. And I let my chunks thaw a bit after cutting them so they're soft before swallowing. They slip down easier that way. I put the liquid in my mouth first, then tip my head back, add the liver piece, and swallow. I've never been able to swallow anything by putting it in first, then drinking. And it seems nasty to do it that way with liver chunks... especially thawed. But thawed definitely feels better going down. I take it with rejuvelac, which has a strong sour flavor and some carbonation, so it really hides the taste and texture of the liver. As to eyeballing the amount... I've been wondering the same thing. I also figured 1/4 a deck of cards should be right, but I usually actually take a little less than that, because I get so full of liquid from swallowing all the little pieces!

I've been using lamb, but have a frozen beef liver in the fridge for when it's gone. And today I used the chicken liver that came in my pastured chicken. I figure variety is good.

I just made my 1st batch of "pills" this afternoon and will start taking them tomorrow. Isn't a cube of cheese 1 oz? If so then a 1 inch square size would be an ounce. So about 6 "pills" for me :)

I don't bother eating them anymore.  I pop them in some juice then use my immersion (stick) blender.  Plug my nose and drink up.

I chop up smallish bite sized pieces while the liver is still partially frozen, package into 1 cup portions, and thaw one container at a time... We gulp them down with a snack "chaser" - no chewing or tasting. Too bad I can't learn to love the taste of liver :(  We gulp down about 2oz a day. Like kbchavez does. We do the same with other raw organs and glands.
