regular pasteurized 'no growth hormone' milk? I cannot find a nonultra...organic milk, raw milk is not an option. I've heard that ultrapasteurized is bad so now I'm wondering if I'm paying more for milk for no reason? Any thoughts?

Our local brand 'Oakhurst' has the farmers pledge for no growth hormone and its pasteurized. I perfer the flavor of that over the organic ultra pasteurized. The organic stuff is pretty gross. My son won't drink it!!

I buy raw milk but my son can't drink it because it gives him explosive diapers, and my husband hates it. So I'm at a loss over what to buy too!

Sorry no help!

i hate the taste of the organic valley ultrapasturized tuff, so gross and then i think about how all living enzymes have been destroyed and it's just yuck. try to find an organic, grass fed, low temp pasturized local milk. thats the second best to raw. also check in finding your tribe here to see if anyone in your area has a good source for raw milk. raw milk is illegal to sell almost everywhere BUT lots of people drink it... you just have to seek it out.

Given those two choices, I've always chosen the "no synthetic growth hormone" non-organic pasturized milk. It's also very likely that the UHP milk is shipped in from far away and the "regular" milk is from a regional dairy. I generally choose local over organic.

Another vote here against the UHT milk. I don't care whether it's organic or not, if it's UHT I automatically pass it by.
