does red star contain MSG?
i just bought a bunch

High temperature nutritional yeast products apparently yield elevated concentrations of the excitotoxin glutamate as a by-product. Is red star low temp processed? Frontier
is processed using low temperatures-and recommend by WAPF.

see link Nutritional Yeast—Super Food or Neurotoxin?

My dh and I also recently bought 15 lbs of Red Star N.Y.

We just went to the link you provided and read through it. There is no indication that N.Y. has MSG as an ingredient. But if you read the article down to the bottom, the critic's intention seems to be to sell his own product, which he says doesn't have N.Y. as an ingredient, but which he's replaced with other stuff that he says makes his product better and more expensive.

I don't know...

DH response: I read the "Nutritional Info" on the Red Star label. It seemed acceptable, i.e. low heat drying process. I also read through the article at the link DW refers to. I'm not sure what to make of the "accusations". However, Red Star does seem to be a large conglomeration . . . the inference being that they would not be sensitive to the issues/concerns/needs I would have with regards to NY.

On the other hand we bought a crapload of the stuff, so for better or worse, I'm finishing it! :P
