I just made these this morning and they're almost gone (well, I'm pregnant...). Wanted to share the recipe!

1/4 cup sunflower oil (this is what makes them grand, so don't sub!)
6 T maple syrup
1 banana
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup spelt flour (or whole wheat or rice)
1/2 cup raisins

Preheat to 375. Mix wet and add to mixed dry. Put on greased cookie sheet and bake 18-20 mins (I think mine took even longer...it's the banana. just make sure bottoms are a little brown and they're ready).

These sound yummy. Unfortunately I don't think they are REALLY sugar free with the maple syrup. (1 tbsp. of maple syrup contains 43 grams of sugar btw) But I guess it's better than regular old sugar (which isn't veg anyway).

Anyway sorry to be a party pooper! I am definitely going to try this recipe!! THANKS!

ps) I also wanted to say out of all the sweetners I have tried agave nectar has the lowest sugar content..just a thought.

Blissful Mama to DD-(5), DS-(6) and someone new due in November!

Here's the Peanut Butter Cookie recipe

there's a million ways you could make these cookies, dpending on what you had.

2 cups flour-I use whole wheat, but you could use a mixture of different types
1 teas. baking soda(I use less)
3/4 teas. salt(again I use WAY less, I hate the taste of salt in bakingproducts)
1 cup natural nut butter(peanut, almond, cashew) I use smooth b/c ds will only wat smooth, but I think chunky would be better cause you'd get bites of peanuts These will only be sugar free is you use a sugar free peanut butter, I made them w the cheap peanut butter once, they seemed to oily and sweet.
1 cup liquid sweetner(I use about 3/4 applesauce, then the rest agave, maple syrup, whatever I have available. I've not tried mashed bananas just cause I haven't had any, but I'm sure they'd taste really good)
1/3 cup oil
1/12 teas vanilla

Preheat oven to 350F
Combine dry ingredients in bowl stir.
Combine wet stir. Mix together.

Roll into balls, put on greased baking sheet, make cross marks w back of fork
Bake 10 min DO NOT OVER BAKE...they take no time at all.

Sugar and cane sugar gives me heart palpitations...maple syrup and agave do not...so I go with that and don't consider it sugar.

Do you consider bananas to be a sugar? If not, I bet you could just use two bananas and no maple syrup.
