A member of my DDC recommended preparing ingredients for crock pot recipes to be thrown in the crock pot and forgotten about. They can be prepared (up to the point of cooking, of course) and thrown in the freezer. They don't take a lot of preparation time or freezer space.

Does anyone have any crock pot recipes that would do well for this purpose?

Hi, this might sound ignorant but what is a ddc???

We make veggie chili every week.

Kidneys, black beans, garbanzos, tomatoe paste, carrots, bell, onion, garlic, LOTS of chili powder, oregano. Everyone in the fam loves it. I just pop open cans and throw it in the crock. Good thread.

eta: woops, don't forget the veggie broth.

It's okay. There are still some acronyms I see on here that I don't know the meanings to. :-)

Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker has some good recipes.  It’s been a few years, but I used to check it out of the library during the winter months and used it quite a bit.  If you google vegetarian crockpot recipes you can find a lot of ideas!
