My doctor advised small, frequent meals. I'm vegan, and he said they should be high-fiber and low-sodium and include protein. What does this mean for regular meals or dinners? Does anyone have any experience? Will I have to start consuming dairy and eggs again? I appreciate any guidance/advice. Thanks!

I don't think so. Beans and quinoa are great sources of fiber and protein. A classic vegan diet--the nutritious kind, anyway--consists of fruits/veg, nuts, seeds, and grains. All of that provides more than enough fiber. Check in on the veg meal-planning thread for ideas. :-)

Thank you. I found the fat-free vegan site for lf and low sodium ideas. I'm guessing I'll just have to break my meals in half. I'm also cooking for family members who don't need to eat small meals and have fairly big appetites.

Here's some high fiber protein-containing vegan small meal ideas:

Small baked sweet potato topped with either spicy hummus or almond butter and a drizzle/sprinkle of something sweet.

Whole grain toast or half a bagel with nut butter

Edamame and a salad roll

An apple and 8-12 roasted almonds

Cup of bean or split pea soup

Banana spread with nut butter

Veggie sticks and hummus (I usually like to have some corn thins with this one http://www.cornthins.com/)

Corn thins topped with refried beans and avocado

All sorts of green, grain, or bean salads
