i'm going shopping tomorrow to stock my kitchen for vegetarian cooking!! i'm trying to plan meals for the coming week or so....
give me ideas! i'm feeling surprisingly void of ideas at the moment....
what's in your pantry? fridge? what are common staples?
if you do once-weekly biweekly shopping trips, what does your list look like?
here's what i have so far... lots is stuff we already eat and have just run out of... but as for meal ideas, i'm blank!!
(keep in mind i'm buying for myself and my two young little ones, i'm on a tight budget -- most of this stuff is on sale which is why i put it on the list -- and i don't mind dairy / eggs... i'm just working on cutting out meat for the moment... i plan to cut down on dairy / eggs once i've made the successful transition back to lacto-ovo...)
- frozen veg - esp. spinach (to make my mom's spinach lasagna recipe)
- brown rice cakes (for snacking
these are on sale, i'm so happy!)
- cottage cheese
- canned tomatoes, tomato paste and tomato sauce
- pasta sauce
- whole wheat lour
- frozen juices
- enriched / whole grain pasta
- powdered milk (for making bread)
.... but i'd like to plan some specific meals, besides lasagna, and.........
