This is kind of a silly topic but does anyone else think Vegenaise is like "real mayo" i.e. Hellman's while Nayonaise is sorta like Miracle Whip? My sister is Nayonaise crazy but I prefer Vegenaise. I never cared much for Miracle Whip, but loved mayo on chicken burgers when I was omni. Has anyone else ever considered this comparison? Interestingly, Vegenaise has 90 calories per tbsp. while Nayonaise has 30 (or 35?). I don't mind N. in tofu "egg" salad, but totally prefer V. on veggie burgers like Amy's Texas burgers. What do ya'll think?

I've heard the comparison a lot and agree. I like both for different applications.

I never thought about it but I don't care for Nayonaise and never liked Miracle Whip. Vegenaise tastes like real mayo to me.

I do not think vegenaise taste like mayo at all if it did I couldn't eat it as I can't stand mayo. I don't believe I've ever tasted nayonaise.
My dh who likes mayo also doesn't think it's taste like mayo but much better actually.

Although I do not like vegenaise on sandwiches only in stuff.

Well TBH my mom hates mayo, so I never ate a whole lot of it growing up (and my grandparents bought Miracle Whip) ... so all I really have to compare it to is a handful of McDonalds experiences. But I seriously thought Vegenaise tasted a LOT like mayo. I've actually said before to omni MIL that it's probably one of the most convincing vegan fake foods. It can be pretty nauseating to eat more than a bit though... I made roasted red potato salad with it a few weeks ago, it was hard to eat much more than a spoonful.

My heart belongs to Veganaise - which is surprisingly weird because as a omni. I always HATED mayo. Not a big fan on the Nayonaise.

That's funny, that's exactly what I was thinking the other day. I'm a Veganaise girl all the way.

Although I can use Nayo in like Zuke casserole and that tastes good.

Yeah! Vegenaise, especially the grapeseed, is SOOOO good. Way better than Hellman's! But spectrum olive oil mayo may give vegenaise a run for its money.
I think nayonnaise is yucky.

I have always hated mayo, all kinds all brands. But the other day I tried the Follow Your Heart brand, and I love it. I don't think it tastes like mayo but it is really really good.

So far, I have only had it on sandwiches. I'm still not too sure about eating a mayo based salad just yet. Even as an omni I just couldn't stomach the mayo bases.
