Our DD will be 2 in April. She starts the night out in her crib, but at some point in the night she joins us in our bed. When she's with us, she only wants to sleep with me. She won't touch DH or let him near her. My question is this, how do we make the transition so that she's ok to sleep on the other side of DH when the new baby arrives?

We plan to move her to a new bedroom and a twin bed when she turns 2 in April, but basically we have 6 months to figure this out. If you've been in a similar situation, what have you done?

We were in a similar situation until I was about 6 months pregnant w/Ds in that DD refused to have daddy nearby at night. We ended up pretty much doing what Dr. Sears suggests for night weaning. We had a few rough nights, but I was scared to death to have my 18 mo. old next to a newborn in bed, so we pushed through. :-/

Thanks! Is his recommendation in the nighttime parenting book?

I think so? If not it's on his website. Just google "Dr. Sears" and "nightweaning"
