I'm hoping you can give me some perspective here.  My son daytime potty trained pretty easy, around 3 years old.  And, at 3 years old when we were potty training, he also suddenly stopped wetting during the night.  From 3 to 4 he was completely dry every single night, as a rule.  Somewhere around 3.5 he started having pee accidents during the day after having been dry for quite awhile. These occurred often when he was playing outside and probably didn't want to have to come in to use the bathroom.  Then they started happening inside too - usually just at our house.  Then he started having daytime pee "accidents" at grandma's house too.  It really seems like a choice for him as they never happen in public places.  Also, he'll go for weeks without them and then suddenly start having them often every day.  As you can imagine, it drives me crazy since he had been completely dry for awhile and since it seems to be a laziness issue.  At first I only encouraged him to choose to stay dry.  But now that it's gone on and on, he does have to stop playing to take a bath and wear a cloth diaper at home for 1-2 hours if he has an accident during the day.

Just after his 4th birthday, he started wetting his bed at night.  He wet it every night for a few weeks and then I put him back in cloth diapers at night.  He is not punished or shamed for bedwetting.  The cloth diapers work fine.  He wets them every night.

So, my question is has anyone had a child revert to nighttime bedwetting after a year of being dry?!?!?  Is there any advice you have for me as to what this could mean?  The bedwetting is not a burden for me, I just am wondering if I should be reading into it.

Also, if you happen to have advice for the daytime wetting, it is welcome.  Obviously, that is much more inconvenient as we'll be needing to go to the store or something and I notice is pants are wet and stinky.  He doesn't seem to care...  Maybe I should have him wear cloth diapers all day long as a way of communicating that he needs to choose to grow up?  Ugh.
