DD has slept in her crib since she was about a month old. The crib is in our room, and for the most part (unless she has a cold or something) she seems content there. She'll be 8 months old on Christmas eve.
Mostly because I am an insomniac, a restless sleeper, and a loud snorer , bedsharing is not for us in the long term. But we are going to be traveling for the holidays and I'm thinking it would be both emotionally (because she'll be in an unfamiliar place) and physically easier just to have her sleep between us while we're gone--we'll be staying at my in-laws' for six nights. The pack n' play just doesn't seem that comfortable and she's not really used to it.
Is this a bad idea, though? I would want her back in the crib when we get back. I don't want to confuse her or set her up for a more difficult transition when we return.
